The Initiative That Makes Medical Simulation Systems Smart: RISE Technology

Modeling events in the human body is very important for education, diagnosis, and treatment. Simulation systems, communication with patients and the competence of computer programs in medical diagnosis and treatment eliminate this problem. These systems allow healthcare professionals, who are required to practice with live patients, to increase their expertise. Develops technical skills, decision-making and problem-solving skills, communication skills. Simulation-based training helps to see different types of patients and rare events without endangering human life.

At this point, the social enterprise RISE technologyIt was established with the aim of making advanced training methods other than classical lesson methods, such as simulation, accessible in all educational institutions. The company has developed hardware-backed great software technology to address this problem.

There are 7 simulation centers in 123 medical schools

The leading idea of ​​the company, which was founded by a team of 6 people, Assoc. He then introduced me to the other members of the lab and we began to focus on this idea as a team of 6 people in total.

The technology they produce makes patient monitors and patient stethoscopes smart, rather than adding hardware to lifeless models. Therefore, the apprentice makes the necessary interventions on the lifeless model, thinking that these vital values ​​and sounds come from the lifeless model. With this method, the cost is greatly reduced and training continues without interruption as there are no sensitive parts in the lifeless model. In this way, the disadvantages of mechanical systems are eliminated and medical simulation training is provided with an adaptive, compact and affordable method.

The entire team worked on a total of 13 R + D + i projects

Founded by physicians and engineers, the President and CEO of RISE Technology Assoc. Dr. Mehmet Kenan Kanburoğlu graduated from Hacettepe University School of Medicine in 2004. He specialized in the Department of Pediatrics and Diseases, and a minor in the Branch of Neonatal Sciences. He has been working at the Recep Tayyip Erdogan University School of Medicine since 2017. In addition, since the establishment of the Recep Tayyip Erdogan University Simulation Center (RSIM), assistant coordinator, scientific studies officer, R&D and quality accreditation. .. Yiğit Mahmutoğlu is a professor of electrical and electronic engineering. Other members are Muhammet Sergen Yılmaz, Adnan Kocatürk and Ömer Ergin are senior students of electrical and electronic engineering … The founders of the company worked on 13 R&D projects. He has acted as executive on seven projects and has 105 scientific publications (56 in indexed journals), 636 citations and 6 awards in national competitions.

RISE Technology was entitled to receive support close to 200 thousand lire from TUBITAK 1512 in August 2020. With this support, it was established at ITU ARI Teknokent in October 2020. It qualified for the ITU Çekirdek Big Bang final in December . In the final stage, with an award of 78 thousand TL by İTÜ ARI Teknokent; Yapı Kredi Technology and the Elginkan Foundation made a total financial flow of 150 thousand liras.

Its objective is to initiate the sale of subscriptions by activating the infrastructure of the ecosystem in the short term. Plan to open abroad. In the long term, he wants to prepare the simulation training system online and enable distance medical education. With this infrastructure, it intends to continue its activities in areas such as telemedicine and online congresses.
