Protests continue over restrictions in the Netherlands

The protests that began at the same time as the curfew in the Netherlands continued tonight. 70 people were arrested in demonstrations in different cities of the country.
In the Netherlands, the curfew measures and restrictions applied to combat the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) were protested. In local media news, it was reported that hundreds of people gathered in different cities to protest the Covid-19 measures.The protests were said to have continued since Saturday, when curfews began last week, and 70 people were detained in tonight’s protests.The activists who attacked the police with fireworks and stones at the protest in southern Rotterdam looted shops. The police station was attacked with fireworks.The police intervened with the protesters with police dogs and water cannons.Similar incidents took place in the cities of Amsterdam, Haarlem, Geleen, Helmond, Zwolle, Amersfoort, Den Bosch and Tilburg, cars were burned.As part of the measures to combat the Covid-19 epidemic, on January 23 a curfew was imposed throughout the country between 9:00 p.m. and 4:30 a.m. In the events that occurred in the city of Urk that same night, the corona virus testing center caught fire.On January 24, similar incidents occurred in 14 cities, including Amsterdam, The Hague and Eindhoven, and hundreds of people were arrested.
